This quarter i read the book Torch Red by Melody Carlson. This book is one of many they are known as the color books. Melody writes about problems for teenagers. This one for instance was about a girl named Zoe and how she feels she is the last virgin on the planet. All of her friends have had sex and their locker room disscussion make it sound so wonderful but Zoe is still unsure. New girl moves and her and Zoe become friends and Zoe ends up hooking up with popular boy Justin Clark. Her mind begins to race with questions. Old casted shawdow friend Nate is encouging Zoe to concider if this is really what she wants.... As Zoe and new girl Shawna become better friends Zoe learns that Shawnas story will change the way Zoe thinks.

I really enjoyed this book because its not a book preachin abstience, it just gives you the real deal of what highschool and sex is. I would recomend this book to others because 1. it was an easy read! 2. it was really insightful and how lies, sex, and boys can destroy something an insatant.

I Remember

©  Jennifer
I remember the way it felt

when you where on top of me

It was like you controlled me

Your forced yourself in

So I gave up & let you win

I remember the way you looked at me

when I said NO

It was like you wanted to show you were in control

You pushed harder

and I tried to say no again

you covered my mouth

so I gave up & let you win.

I remember the sounds you made.

It was like you enjoyed it too much to care.

there were other people there

I should of yelled for them

But I was too ashamed; too afraid

they wouldn't believe me

Or say it was my fault

I remember everything you did

But don't worry your secrets safe

I'm still afraid.

Nobody will believe me

So I give up and I guess you win.
